What began as an ordinary evening turned into the start of forever. On a typical night out, we both happened to stop at the same liquor store—never imagining we’d run into each other. While standing at the register, I noticed Lee in line, staring and winking. If you know me, you know I’m focused, ready to relax, and not easily impressed—so I ignored him entirely. As we left the store, Lee passed by my car, parked in the first spot near the door, and politely wished me a good night. I returned the gesture and thought that was the end of it. But as we both pulled out of the parking lot, I noticed him waving from the corner of my eye. Traffic slowed, and he was still trying to get my attention. I finally pointed for him to pull over, thinking to myself, if he pulls over, he’s getting my number. He pulled over. We exchanged numbers, and eight years later, here we are—choosing each other every day and excited to spend the rest of our lives together.
