Our love story began 13 years ago thanks to a mutual friend of ours, Brigette. Mike went to pick up Adri from her mama and papa’s house, and she showed up in a Winnie the Pooh shirt and sweats. Not exactly dressed to impress — but somehow, it worked. Adri was instantly drawn to Mike’s smooth voice, funny personality, and taste in music, while Mike couldn’t help but think if Adri’s was the same girl he saw on Brigette's binder from high school. After college classes, they would always meet at a friend’s restaurant, sharing breakfast/lunch, and updates about their days. One of Adri’s favorite memories was pulling into a gas station, only to spot Mike pulling out at the same time. He hopped out to pump her gas — a true gentleman. What was crazy was Adri thought to herself, "It'd be crazy if I seen Mike right now." Adri caught herself thinking about him constantly throughout the day. Their first solo hangout didn’t go quite as smoothly — Adri was so nervous she had her cousin call with a fake “emergency” as an escape plan. But Mike’s persistence won her over, and soon after he officially asked her out. Their first date at Gracie’s BBQ in Vallejo sealed the deal — from that night on, they were always looking for ways to spend more time together. The two were inseparable. Fast forward to the proposal: Adri thought she was heading to a casual family outing with Mike’s parents and sister. Hungry and confused about a “later reservation,” she followed along to what she thought was just a scenic stop at Muir Beach Overlook. Instead of finding his family, Adri spotted her own parents hiding along the trail. Moments later, Mike began pouring his heart out. Adri blacked out halfway through his speech, but when he got down on one knee, her answer was immediate: “Of course!” To top it off, their best friends Roman and Chelsea were secretly there too, ready to congratulate them. Over the past 13 years, Adri and Mike have built a life full of adventures and moments alike — traveling together, trying new recipes and restaurants, building Legos, spending time with family and friends. Now, after two years of engagement, they can’t wait to officially begin their next chapter as husband and wife.
