We met in high school through mutual friends. In the beginning it was very casual meet ups and lots of phone calls and text messages throughout the day to keep in touch. After high school we parted ways and attended different universities. We were young with new journeys ahead of us both and thought it better to keep things simple. The phone calls and text messages were less frequent, but we remained in touch. We eventually reconnected at an event in DC. We figured if the universe brought us back together after 4 years why not give this thing a real shot and from that point on we were inseparable. The rest is history!
William had ideas and contemplated for months how he wanted to propose, but nothing seemed to go right or in his favor. Should he do something extravagant or keep it simple. One Tuesday afternoon William invited Shekila to lunch. Thinking nothing of it, William and Shekila attended one of their favorite steakhouses in DC, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse. William had reserved a private area in the back of the restaurant for them to have lunch. At the end of lunch and of course after desert, William professed his love, got down on one knee and popped the big question. Tears were shed and family and friends were called to complete the very special moment.
