As many people know, we love the outdoors and try to escape as frequently as possible. The north Georgia mountains are home to countless beautiful hikes, many of which feature impressive waterfalls. The most popular of the waterfalls in the Blue Ridge area is Long Creek Falls, which can be seen by hiking down a short side trail from the combined Appalachian/Benton MacKaye Trail. These falls total about 50 feet in two distinct drops. A leisurely 30 minute hike to the falls is uphill on the way in, downhill on the way out.
Take a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway along the Toccoa River from Blue Ridge to McCaysville. Board the train at the historic depot in downtown Blue Ridge.
