The Proposal

August 25th 2019

This is a cliff note version of the proposal **due to character restrictions** for full story (and, trust us, its a good one) see Bill!! One of Bill and my favorite places to eat is the Sunday Brunch at the Grand Geneva Chophouse (if you haven't gone, you MUST!). We love it so much that we've introduced it to family as well. One day my sister, Alyce, had asked if I wanted to go on a Sister Brunch Date in a couple weeks- one where we dress up all fancy. Of course I said yes, since Bill had plans already to help a friend pour a concrete patio. Great! She made reservation for 10:00am. Wellll- in True Kayla fashion- I was running incredibly LATE due to a wardrobe dilemma. Lets just say- I was planning on wearing a dress as we discussed, but my raging pregnancy hormones was having none of that. My sister and I bantered back and forth for almost an hour while she TRIED HER HARDEST to get me in a dress (looking back, I know why) but ultimately Jeans and a nice shirt it was. We finally get to the restaurant and we walk up to the host and say "sorry we're a little late for our reservation at 10:00" (Whoops- it's actually 10:40) but he reassured us it was no problem and directed to a table by the window. As we were about to sit, the host turns towards us and says, "You know what, actually, I have a better table for you, just this way." Sister and I look at each other, raising our eyebrows in confusion but we don't question and just follow him. He then escorts us to the back room typically reserved for larger parties. As I round the corner, I am fidgiting with something on my purse, then look up... From here, time seemed to move in slow motion. Standing before me is Bill, dressed stunningly in a navy suit, looking more handsome than ever (while I'm wearing JEANS!) . I am so overwhelmed with joy that I didn't register that the table of people behind him is Family and Friends- surrounding us- present to witness what is one of the most beautiful moments in our lives...

For all the days along the way
