We were first introduced through a mutual friend in July of 2016. We were both enjoying a night with friends at Sunspot- a popular hangout for UT students in the summer. That casual greeting turned into mutual interest and after a few months we finally went on our first official date at Nama (half priced sushi night!!!). The past four years of our relationship have included college graduations, time spent living in different cities, a move to Memphis, new jobs, a dog, a first home purchase, and much more. Through every stage of life that we have gone through together, it has only become more and more clear that we want to be together for the rest of our lives. We got engaged on August 21, 2020 and are now excitedly looking forward to our wedding!

On a Friday afternoon in August, I left work and headed to Justin’s house for dinner. He had suggested getting One and Only delivered- our favorite restaurant in Memphis. While we waited for the food to arrive, he suggested that we take a quick walk around the neighborhood. As we walked, Justin began leading me toward the neighborhood gazebo where a bouquet of roses came into view. In that moment, I felt the surprise and excitement of what I knew was about to happen. Justin got down on one knee and I happily said “YES!” We spent the rest of the evening FaceTiming friends and family, celebrating, and enjoying great BBQ. Though Justin would later tell me about his other proposal plans that had been disrupted by both the pandemic and bad weather, I could not have imagined a more perfect day.
