Having matched on Hinge but not wanting to pass along potential COVID caught while working in the emergency department, Kelsey was dead set on not meeting in person until COVID ran its course. “It should only be a 2-week thing,” the experts said. Whoops. After being charmed, Kelsey quickly changed her tune. The “first date” consisted of meeting at Kelsey’s apartment in Greensboro with takeout from Lindley Park Filling Station, where plenty of laughs were shared. On the drive back home to Burlington that night, David kept saying to himself, “Oh, boy. That shouldn’t have gone as well as it did. I may be in trouble with this one.”
Having already spent most of their free time together (with most businesses closed) and somehow not catching the COVID Kelsey feared spreading, Kelsey and David moved into a house together. The couple quickly turned the house into a home and eventually even added a second dog to the family.
On a trip to Nashville to attend a medical conference, David took Kelsey to a winery – if you know Kelsey, it’s perhaps one of her favorite places on earth. Beforehand, he enlisted the help of Kelsey’s roommate from PA school, Kaylee, and her husband, Matt, to pull off the proposal. Kelsey became a bit suspicious when David washed his hair before going to the winery. Luckily, Kaylee texted Kelsey, “Is David coming with us to the winery?” thus throwing her off the trail of suspicion. With Kaylee and Matt trailing behind with video rolling, David got down on one knee to pop the question while walking through the vineyards! “Oh my god! You guys were in on this?!” Kelsey asked.
