Our plan was to go and get pumpkins to carve that night, since it was Halloween after all. Jimmy really wanted to go to a “pick your own” patch, but because it was pitch black out and Halloween night, nothing was open. He seemed a bit aggravated, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary when plans change or if he is hungry (which we both were). We decided to settle on a farm stand on the way home for one last shot at the perfect pumpkins for our Jack-o-lanterns. As I was furiously digging through a pile of rotting gourds (my finger even pierced a few) I look up to see an open box in my face with a diamond ring in it. At first I was confused, as Jimmy stood there with the ring, asking me if I wanted to get married (he was recovering from a knee injury). I was silent for a solid 30 seconds because I was so caught off guard... As I realized what was going on I finally said “YES!”, and the rest is history. We called all of our family and friends, had a delicious dinner of Indian food, and carved our pumpkins! We were engaged on our favorite holiday, and now I will be marrying my best friend THIS Halloween! We are looking forward to our bachelor/bachelorette parties, shower, and all of the fun events and planning that go along with this whole process! We are very excited to be spending Halloween and our wedding day with all of you! Love, Emily & Jimmy
