We first met during homeroom in 8th grade at Stevenson Middle School. From there we became friends, which led to helping with homework, friendly hugs and chases, and the occasional locker closing. That led to puppy love and exchanging drawings of dragons along with inside jokes. But that was cut short when 8th grade ended and he had to move away.
We kept in touch over AIM, the usual friendly chatting. Zach would come visit his dad in Westland, MI and would hang out with me during his time here. After a few visits that puppy love came back, and we finally confessed our feelings. We knew we had a tough road ahead of us with this being a long distance relationship but we didn't care. From there it was history, we were simply meant to be.
We had been together for a total of 11 years, 8 of those were long distance and 3 of those were living together. It was our yearly vacation and we decided to go to Chattanooga, TN to revisit some of our favorite places. To start off our trip we went to Rock City, a beautiful gem on Lookout Mountain. We followed the longest trail that goes through the park, taking pictures and visiting places that had a special meaning to us. One spot in particular is this wooden platform that is off the side of the mountain, called Lovers Leap. At that time Zach was confessing his love and when I turned around he had a large wooden box with this beautiful ring, and asked that one important question. "Will you marry me?" I cried as I said yes and hugged him tightly. From there our relationship took the lovers leap, we were simply meant to be.
