On a cold Black Friday weekend, after working one of her toughest days yet, Asha curled her hair, put on her heels and headed to sing her usual gig in SoHo. With most of her friends out of town for the holiday, she knew tonight’s gig wouldn’t have it’s usual crowd and was not excited for the night - little did she know that on a night she expected a less than thrilling turnout, God planned to change her life with just one new audience member. Michael, was having a regular day bartending at his Chamber’s St staple when he responded to an old high school friend’s invite to join her for a drink and a friend’s gig. Being the lover of live music, food and cocktails that he is, Michael figured this sounded like a pretty okay night. Little did he know, he would walk in to the voice of an angel and call “Dibs” at first sight. Some small talk and an “Im from Texas” with a country boy draw later, Asha was smiling from ear to ear, making it easy to be persuaded to grab drinks at Michael’s favorite Karaoke bar with the crew. Singing the night away, the group belted out everything from show tunes to R&B classics with a sip of wine between each song. Finally, as friends began to throw in the towel, Asha and Michael were the last one’s standing. The two continued to share song after song and laugh after laugh while gazing into one another’s eyes and gabbing about everything under the sun. Talking was easy, and smiling - even easier - so both kept glued to their seats until realizing just how late it was. One beard to cheek graze and gentlemanly walk to an Uber later, the two exchanged numbers and fell into a never-ending conversation. Soon they would enjoy their first date spending the entire day on the town - both, each other’s answered prayer & inseparable from that date on. God has so carefully crafted this union and although opposites, He has equipped this Lord and Lady with the tools to be true partners through hills and valleys for the rest of their days.
