Someday...

Update for 2021

We thank you all for your kind words and love over the past year. As we approach Summer 2021, we had hoped to host a couple of smaller celebrations in lieu of the original plans but, we have decided that we will wait a little longer. We hope that when the day comes we all feel comfortable ripping off our masks and dancing the night away. Sending you all so much love and all our best to you. We look forward to when we can all celebrate.

In light of COVID19,

it is with heavy hearts...

As much as we would have loved to celebrate with each and every one of you, we feel a large gathering this summer is too soon to impose such a risk on our loved ones. This has not been an easy decision. We have dreamt of the day all of our favorite people would be arriving from all over the country to celebrate. We have poured our hearts and time into planning a memorable celebration for all of you. However, during such a questionable time, the safety and well-being of our friends and family is of the utmost importance to us. We are truly so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused for those that have already booked travel. We hope you understand this decision was not taken lightly and took a long time to come to. It is in this moment; we realize more than ever what our commitment to one another truly means to us. Our hope is to move forward with a small ceremony & celebration on August 8th with our immediate families. I know we will be missing so many of you, and it truly breaks our heart that it isn’t the celebration we set out to plan. On the other hand, how lucky are we to have such incredible people in our life that their presence means so much to us? In a time like this, we recognize how blessed we are with such a great support system in each of you. Sending each of you all our love, Lauren & Kelly

How We Met

06.06.2019

We could tell you we met when we both reached for cashmere gloves in a busy New York City department store during Christmas... but, we didn't. However, you should go watch the movie 'Serendipity' because it wouldn't feel that far from our story. Let's set the scene: It's 2019, we both 'liked' each other's dating profile (the movie really writes itself here, doesn't it?). We have an amazing first date, complete with a dinner we barely touched and a dive bar with a great 90's hip-hop playlist. Kelly stole a kiss after beating me in a skee ball game. If you know me, you know I hate to lose but, I really hate to lose at my most favorite game. Now, of course, he wasn't the most gracious winner either. Yet, I completely forgot about the loss. It was a night neither of us wanted to end. I immediately texted my closest girlfriends and asked 'How did you know you met your husband? I think I just met mine'. The saying 'when you know, you know' couldn't be more accurate than it is here. I'll be the first to tell you I hate cliches, but hot-diggity-damn it is true.

The Proposal

11.08.2019

My Mom suggested we go to the Mt Washington Hotel for dinner our first night in town. Hmm, Fancy suggestion Mom! My mom suggested Kelly and I go up to Mt Washington early to look around and show Kelly the cool views before our dinner together. The sun sets at 4:15 so, we missed the views but, I figured the bar would do! Kelly had other plans. Kelly was peering around every corner when I was wondering what he is looking for. The sun is down, literally nothing to see out the windows…what is he trying to find? While showing him the grand ballroom he heads to the closest door and starts looking outside. Dude, seriously, what are we looking for?! I said the bar is downstairs. He takes my hand and suggests we go outside. It is 20 degrees & snowing, really?? He leads me down the veranda, to a large outdoor rotunda overlooking the snowy grounds and the porch lights of the hotel lighting our walk…okay, okay it is freezing but super romantic. He spun me around, which I butchered, naturally, and he looked in my eyes. Once I saw the tears in his eyes, it was nothing but ugly crying from me. Honestly, I barely remember what was said beyond, ‘Lauren, I love you…’ As he got down on one knee, I burst in to teary giddy laughing fits. My mom and Kelly had been scheming for weeks to plan this perfect night. Like, how cute is that?! They surprised me with a night at the hotel, but due to the icy roads Mom was not going to be able to make it for dinner. My type A nagging to unpack the car the second we got to my mom’s house left us without bags, oops! We woke up to a blue bird day and a perfect view of a snow covered Presidential Range. It was something out of a Hallmark movie, a genre I know too well. Kelly and my mom planned the most amazing evening and weekend, and I love them both so much for the perfect memory they created!
