We met at Jubilee Church where we were involved in our young adults ministry and shared mutual friends. Little did we know that the friendship that grew overtime would become the foundation for our future romantic relationship.

It was an unlikely night to propose! We had plans to bring our young adults ministry leadership team to an escape room for a night of team building, followed by a double date with some of our best friends, Ashley & Deunta Hartwell who were in town from Dallas. About 30 minutes before the night's festivities were to begin, Derek texted Ashlee and said he was sick & vomiting. Ashlee was pretty bummed out that he wouldn't be joining everyone at the escape room. Little did she know, the escape room clues led outside to a romantic proposal, with rose petals, candles, a few family members, friends, and a heartfelt proposal by her future husband!
