We met through a local community of hippies... uh hem... dancers. Yes, the most fun loving, free-spirited group of humans we've ever met at an event called Ecstatic Dance Dallas. We learned how to interact through dance before we even knew each other's names. We then started seeing each other at other communities events, learning about things like authenticity, mindful communication and relational meditation. We came together at a time of great growth in our lives individually. And we were both very much healing from past relationships. We found immediate groundedness in each other presence as well as fun and healing. A few of our first dates included: smoothies at Central Market (lol), Jazz Festival in Denton, countryside bike ride to a thrift mall, a Marianne Williamson talk at the Texas Theater, and moving Emily between apartments (if that counts, hah!). We found a sweetness and an ease in each other. In 2021, we took a trip to Maui, Hawaii. Michael proposed to Emily under a waterfall along the historic Road to Hana; a very rough, windy road along the cliff coast of Hawaii, with waterfalls around almost every bend. It was a gorgeous and holy moment. We've grown together in a slow and steady way. Currently we are dreaming into a life where we can be immersed in nature; Living on land and homesteading in as many ways as possible. We hope to start a family soon after deciding where that will be.
