Jason and Monique first met the year of 2012 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, at the University of Bridgeport, but their love story didn’t start there. It won’t be until a few years later when sparks begin to fly. The couple first met when Monique entered Jason’s dorm room for a game night. Unbeknownst to Monique Jason had his eye on her since that fateful night. Jason told himself it wasn't the right time for him to shoot his shot (for the older folk that means pursuing her), but he prayed to God if it was meant to be it would be. Throughout the years their paths would cross but nothing came of it. If you ask Monique she will call this the ghost flirting era. Jason and Monique would engage in small flirty conversations, but then he went ghost. Monique could not figure out why nothing would come out of it so she put her interest to the side. A few years later in April 2018, a mutual friend of the couple invited Monique to join her and her group of college friends for an outing in the city. Monique walks into the restaurant and guess who she sees….Jason! Secretly she hoped he would be there to finally know if something was there between them. After the group dinner and games at Dave’s & Buster; Jason, Monique, and two mutual friends ended up at a random pub in the city. Over drinks the group would engage in various conversations about love, life, family, and goals….that’s where Monique and Jason felt a connection. It was like they were the only two people in the room. They instantly knew they were each other’s answered prayers. Since that day Monique and Jason have been inseparable. From driving back and forth from NY to CT distance was not an obstacle for these two. Their love grew daily. On June 22nd, 2018 on a romantic getaway, Jason asked Monique to be his girlfriend. Through the years the young couple went on various dates, moved in together, traveled the world, met each other’s families, merged friend groups, and built a family (their dogs: Hendrix + Legacy). A little secret…on their 1st anniversary these two wanted to secretly elope but decided they rather wait to say “I Do” in front of family and friends. On July 23rd, 2022 on the famous bridge in Central Park, NY Jason made a special announcement in front of family, friends, and strangers… he got down on one knee and asked Monique to be his wife and with tears of joy she said “Yes” !!! Family and friends let’s continue to watch this couple's story unfold as they become one on November 7th, 2024. Stay tuned and #FollowTheRhule’s
