Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Lauren Folland and Nick Wogan
New Orleans is filled with culture, music, history, and amazing food. Lauren and Nick have visited many times throughout their relationship, and each time they found exciting new opportunities for adventure. Here are some recommendations from Nick and Lauren of their favorite things to do in the city.

Cafe Du Monde French Market

800 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

If you do one thing, let it be walking around Jackson Square with a hot fresh beignet from Café Du Monde, and you will not be disappointed.

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

You could spend a week in this museum and not see everything, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and be prepared for the long haul because it is an incredible museum.

Cathedral-Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France

615 Pere Antoine Alley, New Orleans, LA 70116

Nick pretended to translate the latin phrases on the walls to Lauren on their first trip. Try this prank on whoever you visit it with!

Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro

626 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Nick and Lauren had the pleasure of catching a Jazz show with Nick's sister and brother-in-law on their first visit to the city as a couple and had a marvelous time!

Mardi Gras World

1380 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans, LA 70130

Nick, Lauren, Sylvia, and Jim visited this amazing spot in January of 2019 and it was so much fun to learn about the history of Mardi Gras and see the floats being built. The tour also came with a slice of king cake so definitely a can't miss!

Pat O'Brien's Courtyard Restaurant

624 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Nick, Lauren, his sister Michelle and brother in-law Marco all enjoyed the very dangerous Hurricane's here on their first trip to NOLA.

The Carousel Bar & Lounge

214 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Such a fun spot in the quarter to enjoy a drink or snack where it isn't too rowdy.

Brennan's

417 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

If you can't get a reservation (which wouldn't be surprising) make sure you check out the Bubbles at Brennan's in the Bar. They have Champagne Sabering Thursday-Monday at 5pm and great bubbly cocktails.

Gumbo Shop

630 Saint Peter, New Orleans, LA 70116

Nick's Aunt Cheryl brought Nick, Lauren and the Folland family here when we came last November for Thanksgiving and it is a top notch hole in the wall Gumbo spot.

Ruby Slipper Cafe

2001 Burgundy Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Hit one of the Ruby Slipper Café locations after a night of libations, or just because it is probably the greatest breakfast place in the country. You won't be sorry!
