Back in 2021, Kylie had just graduated from USC and was juggling work as a waitress and babysitter while hustling through auditions. Dan was finishing up his senior year at LMU, playing his final water polo games. Neither of us were looking for a relationship—we were both focused on our futures. Funny how it always happens when you're not looking! One day, we both decided to download the infamous dating app, Hinge. After lots of scrolling, Kylie came across Dan’s profile. While there was a lot to love about Dan's profile, it was Dan’s quirky “eyebrow wave” that really caught Kylie's eye. After messaging back and forth, we decided to meet for our first date at El Tarasco in Manhattan Beach. We shared burritos, watched the sunset, and didn’t want the night to end. (Though Kylie, trying not to seem “needy,” forgot to mention her gluten- and dairy-free diet… let’s just say the date ended a little quicker than expected once the food settled.) On the drive home, Kylie called all her parents and said, “I don’t think this is normal for a first Hinge date, but I think I just met the man of my dreams.” By our third date, Kylie met Dan’s dad. On the fourth, Dan met Kylie’s family—and asked her to be his girlfriend that same night. The night before our wedding will mark four incredible years together. These years—dating, growing, getting engaged, and now stepping into marriage—have been the best of our lives. We cannot wait to begin this new chapter as Mr. and Mrs. Roth and are beyond excited to celebrate with every single one of you. With love, Kylie & Dan
