Enjoy this small snippet of this song “Never Letting Go” dedicated to my love, Folawe ♥️
God's timing is a mysterious thing. It may not always make sense in the moment, but His plans for our lives are made clear once we reflect on the journey that brought us this far. This is the story of how God brought Folawe and I together, despite the distance and odds. It all started when I went for a church missionary trip. The night before the Sunday Thanksgiving Service, my mom received a spiritual revelation from her prayer meetings regarding my future wife. She told me that a lady will come to me, and when I see her there will be many signs showing me that she's the one. Most importantly, she will also wear Aso Adura (prayer gown) with me. I prayed to God to make this revelation a reality. The following day, I led the choir at Church with a beautiful hymn. A few people in service began recording the performance, and a video was then posted on social media, Instagram precisely. That's when it happened. Folawe saw the video on her feed and followed my page. Upon receiving the notification of a new follower, my curiosity led me to her profile, There was an instant attraction. I wanted to know the person behind this profile, I was instantly attracted to her, so I slid in her DMs, (Direct Messages) for the older generation. (laughs). To my surprise, she was able to hold meaningful conversation and we related so similarly in ideals and values on things that mattered to me most. Our life goals, family values, and spiritual views all aligned so perfectly. To top it off, she also attended a white garment church and sang in the choir. I began to wonder if this was my mom’s revelation from her prayers. Everything just made perfect sense with Folawe. I had never enjoyed conversing with anyone as much as I enjoyed with her. We would go back and forth with lengthy messages, covering everything from our love for music, to family and the constant obstacles of life. One thing that carries us is the strong love of God, and that far strengthened the feelings I had for my Folawe. I felt strongly that this beautiful, amazing, God fearing woman was the one for me, and there was no way I would allow her out of my sight. Folawe had my undivided attention. Her sparkling eyes and warm smile drew me in like a magnet. I couldn't help but feel completely focused on her. Her voice was like music to my ears, and I wanted to listen to her every word. I had never met anyone like her before. Without wasting any time, I asked if she would be my valentine, to which she agreed. I booked my flight to Louisiana to see her for the very first time. When I met her physically, that’s when I knew Folawe was the woman that my mother had prayed for. Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant, and Folawe ordered her favorite drink: a frozen margarita. As she sipped her drink, her beautiful and warm smile lit up the room. I couldn't help but stare at her. At that moment, I knew that there was no one else I'd rather be with. I was certain that I had found my soulmate, my abundance of joy in human form. She was my everything. Four years later, we are engaged and our hearts race with anticipation for our union. God's timing is truly remarkable. He brought us together, despite the distance and obstacles. He knew that our souls were meant to intertwine, and He orchestrated our paths to cross. Folawe, my love, you are the greatest gift that God has ever given me. You are my soulmate, my best friend, and the love of my life. I am so grateful for your love, your support, and your unwavering faith in me. I can't wait to spend the rest of my days with you, building a life together filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Thank you, God, for bringing Folawe into my life. You are the author of our love story, and I know that you have a beautiful plan for our future. I trust you to guide us and to help us grow in our love together.
