The North entrance (Gardner, MT) and West entrance (West Yellowstone, MT) to the park are both about an hour drive from Bozeman.
A pretty drive close to town with great mountain views and options for easy walks around the reservoir or to waterfalls (Grotto Falls or Palisade Falls) or fun hikes that are more challenging (Emerald Lake, Hyalite Lake, History Rock, Mount Blackmore).
Recommended trails: The M Trail, Drinking Horse, Sypes Canyon, Sacajawea Peak, Storm Castle, Mount Baldy, Beehive Basin, Lava Lake, Bracket Creek
Rivers: Gallatin, Madison, Jefferson, Yellowstone

Our favorite spot for dinner.
We love the sweet heat fried chicken sandwich. Katie's dad says it's the best fried chicken he's ever had--and he's from the South.
