Here's a video of our proposal!

How We Met

First comes Tinder, then comes marriage.

Alexis's POV: It was early August 2021, attending East Carolina University virtually and living at home in Nashville, NC. I worked full-time in a remote position that dealt with customer service. I had pretty much given up on finding love and being in a relationship by this point, and then I received a notification that someone had Super Liked me on Tinder. Of course, this caught my eye, so I logged in to see who it was, and BOOM, it's Zachary! There was a little bit of confusion on which person in the picture was him. But thankfully, he showed proof that he was the guy that I liked. He sent me a cheesy pickup line, and from there we started flirting and talking more. The first time we spoke on the phone, he had to help me with putting a chair together as my friend, Trinity, and I were struggling. He eventually asked me on a date and met me for the first time in Greenville at his college apartment. He drove us to Chili's, where we had a great time together. We decided that we wanted to take things slow, as we both were coming out of a breakup at this point and didn't want to rush into anything. After some time together, Zachary asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said no...I felt like it was too soon to jump in. He ended up asking me two more times before I finally said yes in November of 2021! Fast forward a few years, Zachary had graduated from ECU, and it was my last semester, we were blessed to have the opportunity to be there for my niece, Leilani, and we took her into our home in March of 2024. We've been a happy family since, and FINALLY, Zachary surprised me and proposed to me during our family pictures on the beach. Of course, I cried a ton, and we've been wedding planning since. Zachary's POV: It was near the middle of August 2021, and I was swiping on Tinder and found Alexis’s profile. I liked her pictures and decided to Super Like her. A few days later, I got a notification of a match, and I decided to use a great pickup line that I knew would work. We started talking, and I asked her on a date to Chili’s. I made her drive to Greenville to meet me for the date. We met at my apartment, and I drove us to the restaurant. The date went well, so we continued talking. She finally said yes to be my girlfriend. We eventually moved in together in New Bern, NC, after I graduated from East Carolina University. I decided I wanted to be closer to work after commuting for a year, so we moved to Jacksonville, NC, together with Leilani. I eventually went engagement ring shopping without her and then invited her to come with me to make sure that the ring was something that she liked. I was pretty close to what she wanted, and I eventually bought the ring. I woke up the day of family pictures on the beach and decided that was the day that I wanted to ask her to be my wife. She said yes, and she has been wedding planning since.
