A few options to get to South Bend from Chicago: -Car Rental -Bus Shuttle: Brings you directly to the Notre Dame Bookstore (only available from ORD). However, there is a set schedule so it only runs certain times of the day -Train

The South Bend Airport has a free shuttle to/from the Double Tree (needs to be coordinated directly with the hotel). The airport is roughly 10 minutes away from both hotels on our room blocks so Taxis / Uber / Lyft are a convenient options.
