Pastor Doug Dommer is a beloved figure in NW Houston, especially at Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas, where he served with infectious joy for 38 years (1981–2019). His ministry was a vibrant blend of faith, fun, and heartfelt connection, making Jesus real “one life at a time”. Doug’s impact at Salem was massive. He mentored young pastors, preached with passion, and helped grow a 2,500+-strong community with a 100-acre campus buzzing with local and global outreach. Doug made such an impact on the Kelley families faith journey over the years, particularly SuZanne, who grew up in Salem’s worship team. From her elementary days through confirmation and beyond college, Doug was her spiritual cheerleader, guiding her faith with warmth and wisdom that left a lasting mark. (Fun Fact - Doug plays the organ and Piano very well! By Doug’s side is his incredible wife, Delo, a retired teacher whose brilliance and heart amplified their ministry. SuZanne remembers the early days she always sat on the front right pew (stage left). Together, they are a dynamic duo, touching thousands of lives. When Doug retired in 2019, he didn't put his bible away, he went north - to Living Word Lutheran Church in The Woodlands where he leads others in their faith journey! Doug and Delo’s legacy sparkles with kindness, faith, and love. They’re the kind of folks who make you feel like family. Joey and SuZanne are blessed to have Doug's wisdom and guidance as they start their lives together.

Ask him about losing his teeth on a Navy ship; it’s a story that’ll have you in stitches. As an usher, Juan’s infectious joy and trailblazing tattoo advocacy (paving the way for all Kelley girls’ husbands) make him a family gem.
