We’ve technically known each other since at least 5th grade, but our first real “run-in” happened in 7th. He was best friends with my best friend's boyfriend, and one day he came to lunch expecting his usual seat—only to find my friend and me comfortably sitting there. He was not thrilled. In true middle school fashion, his chosen method of revenge? Taking my friend’s backpack and drawing all over it. (Bold move.) After that… we didn’t speak. For years. Fast forward to college. Different city, new chapter—and somehow, we found each other again. It had been so long, but this time, everything felt different. We clicked immediately, like no time had passed, and like maybe all that time had been leading us back to each other. Since then, it’s been nothing but laughter, love, and the kind of ease that only happens when the universe is quietly rooting for you.
