We met like most couples these days via a dating app! Our first date was at El Tiempo and the conversation was so easy and free flowing that we knew something was different. We had a second date just a quick two days afterwards (where I rejected Jason's kiss at the end of the date....whoops). Despite the rejection I knew I wanted to see him again and the rest is history. We've enjoyed spending so much time together growing in our faith, cooking, exploring, and just enjoying each others company. In just the first few months of dating we both endured COVID and a winter apocalypse it was rough, but we both knew there was no one else we wanted to go through those things with and it made our relationship so much stronger!

Jason was very insistent on driving down to Galveston for the day. Galveston is an important place for us for several reasons: I went to PT school there, Jason worked in Galveston 2 days a week, and we had a very special date day on the beach in January 2021 where Jason told me that he knew I was the one for him without a doubt. We had originally planned the Galveston date for the following weekend because we already had plans on the weekend of April 24th; however, the event on April 24th ended up getting postponed to the following weekend. When I informed Jason of the switch, he very quickly responded with "well how about a Galveston date that day?!" so I agreed. We spent the day together eating lunch at our favorite restaurant followed by sitting on the beach for the afternoon. He told me that he had made dinner reservations at Waterman's which is one of my favorite restaurants on the island and that we had to wear nicer clothes to sit on the beach....I ended up wearing a sundress just to keep cool in the hot sun! After a few hours of being there he asked if I wanted to take a walk to the beach. We walked to the water line and he knelt down and popped the question! Of course said YES!!! As I turned around I saw my parents, best friend (MOH Hannah Ross), and Jason's best friends (Evan and Al) walking across the beach to meet us. We then had a nice dinner at Waterman's with family and friends. It was spectacular and so thoughtful!
