Starr and Floyd first met on Facebook—almost by chance. They were friends online when one day Starr came across a picture Floyd had posted wearing a pink pea coat. Laughing, she commented and asked where he got it from, or if she could have it. What started as a lighthearted exchange about the coat turned into occasional conversations and playful jokes between them. Not long after, Floyd asked Starr if she knew a traveling stylist. She told him that she actually was one. Starr began doing Floyd’s hair, and through those appointments they started building a genuine connection. Over time their friendship grew stronger, and they eventually began referring to each other as best friends. At the time, both Starr and Floyd were in separate relationships, but they often confided in one another, venting and offering support through different situations in life. Eventually Floyd’s relationship ended, and Starr was there for him during that time. A few months later, Starr’s relationship also came to an end, and Floyd became the one she leaned on. They remained best friends for about a year until one day Floyd shared that he had developed feelings for Starr. At first she laughed it off, but Floyd remained persistent about how he felt. After some time and reflection, they both agreed to give a relationship a chance on April 25, 2023. Their friendship blossomed into something deeper, and on February 26, 2026, Starr and Floyd became engaged, turning a friendship that started with a pink pea coat into the beginning of their forever.
