Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

We will not be reserving a block of rooms for out-of-town guests. However, there are several hotel recommendations in the Seattle area on the 'Travel' tab of this website. Most of these are about a 20 minute drive from the venue. Please note that the Hotel Ballard itself is a very small hotel and if you would like to stay there you will need to book your stay far in advance!

Question

What is the attire for the event?

Answer

The event dress code is cocktail / semi-formal attire.

Question

Will the event be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be held entirely indoors. There will also be access to an outdoor balcony during the reception.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Well ... Seattle in November is typically quite overcast and rainy. Average temperatures this time of year are about 51 / 43 degrees Fahrenheit. We may get lucky and have a clear day on November 8th (fingers crossed!) but we will most likely get the opportunity to appreciate the classic Seattle climate.

Question

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Answer

Our catering team is happy to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions. You will have the opportunity to indicate what your restrictions are through the RSVP process once you receive an invitation approximately 8 weeks prior to the event.

Question

Can I bring a gift for the bride and groom?

Answer

The most important thing to us is to get to spend time with our friends and family! If you feel inclined to bring a gift, please refrain from any physical gifts. We do not plan on creating a registry.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Please do not bring additional guests to the event unless specifically indicated on your invitation!

Question

Can I bring my children to the wedding?

Answer

We want you to be able to relax and enjoy the event, so we have made the decision to have a child-free wedding, especially as the rooftop venue is not very kid-friendly.

Question

Should I fly into Paine Field Airport or Sea-Tac Airport?

Answer

In general, there is very little public transit that will get you from Paine Field to Ballard/Seattle area, so we recommend flying into Sea-Tac. Sea-Tac is generally less expensive to fly into and has many more flight times available!

Question

How do I get from Sea-Tac to my hotel?

Answer

We recommend using the Link Light Rail to get from Sea-Tac to the heart of Seattle then walking or Uber/Lyft-ing to your hotel. Simply follow the 'Link' signs in the SEATAC airport to get to the station. Tickets for the Link can be purchased using the Transit Go app or physically at any station. You are welcome to rent vehicles but please be aware that there will be limited parking available at the venue! See parking FAQ for additional details.

Question

Will there be parking at the venue?

Answer

The Hotel Ballard has an underground parking lot reserved for guests staying in the hotel. There is limited street parking along Ballard Ave., and a Pay-to-Park lot at the corner of Vernon and Shilshole Ave. For free parking, the Hotel Ballard staff recommend using the Swedish Hospital parking lot located about 3 blocks East of the hotel. Please note that this is approximately a 6 minute walk between the Swedish Hospital and Hotel Ballard!

Question

Are there any other wedding related events I should know about?

Answer

The bride and groom plan on organizing a 'Day After Brunch' at a restaurant near the venue. Time and location yet to be determined.
