Our story began shortly after I graduated college in California. I was ready for a fresh start and wanted to move to a new city. One of my best friends, Taylor Helvie, was in Boston for nursing school and knew I wanted a change. She told me how much she loved Boston and offered me a place to stay with her. I didn’t know at the time that this offer would ultimately change our lives (Thank you!). I booked a one-way flight with no job and no plan and landed in Boston in August of 2017. A month later after countless job applications, I got a call to interview for a front desk position at a small law firm. I couldn’t find the right address online (and wasn't too excited about this particular job) so I nearly cancelled, but I decided last second to call, confirm the address, and show up. Funny enough, Rick was the one who answered that call and gave me the information. I was offered the job on the spot and started shortly after. Rick was one of the several attorneys at the law firm and we quickly became friends in the office. He was funny, friendly, and wildly sarcastic, and I had never met anyone quite like him. The friends part didn’t last too long as you can imagine. We loved each other’s company and found ourselves going to the gym after work together almost every day and grabbing dinner and drinks in the neighborhood any chance we could get. This went on for about a year until I left the firm and got a new job. We started officially dating and spent all our time together going to Celtics and Bruins games, getting drinks with friends, checking out new restaurants, going on weekend trips all around New England and driving out to Old Orchard Beach, Maine any chance we could get, which has turned into one of our favorite places to be together. We eventually moved in together and bought a condo in Charlestown, our favorite neighborhood in the city. Along came our puppy (and love of our life) shortly after and then an engagement ring not too long after that!
