The Story

Tiffany and David met Aug 14th, 2022. David was a very smart man and Tiffany caught his eye. They would be staffing the Summit Semester, Gap Year program together. David at that time was in the middle of a vow he had made to the Lord and would not be able to date. So their time together In Pagosa Springs was nothing to make mention of. Some weeks they would talk and others they wouldn't. Neither had made any interests known. However... David noticed her. From the moment he met her, he saw there was something different about her. She was special. Under his vow he had committed himself to seeking the Lord above everything else. So interactions between them stayed minimal. David was paying attention though. He saw how well she cared for her students, what motivated her, who she would choose to be, in hard and trying circumstances as well as the comfortable ones. And he would listen to every story that would make mention of her. The end of their time in Pagosa with Summit, David had decided to ask her a question. He had made up his mind to tell her of his affections for her. He cared for her and wanted her to know. He knew he could not date her until April of the next year but he had to let her know. Following their time together Tiffany went home to work at a Chiropractic office and David returned to phoenix briefly before going home to Virginia to spend time with his family. They stayed in contact during this time and continued to grow in friendship. Right about the beginning of April, David would call Tiffany and ask her if she was ready to start to start a relationship. She was a bit hesitant but eventually she came around. David and Tiffany began their relationship doing long distance and that trend has since continued. Time together has been a precious commodity between them and something they have not received much of. However the time they have had has been very rich and full of much laughter, joy and depth. One of their first dates was actually prepared months prior when David Bought Les Mis' tickets for himself and Tiffany to go. back in November of the previous year. (they were not dating by this point but David had a little too much confidence) David would go to Colorado and meet her family and extended family then proceed to spend the next 10 days with her. They road-tripped from Colorado to Virginia in record timing of 29 hours. Stopping along the way taking film photos of them doing handstands in every state. Walked on the Manassas Battlefield's. and of course saw Les Miserables. On September 1st, while Tiffany was visiting David at the YWAM base in Kona, Hawaii, David would get down one one knee and ask Tiffany to be his wife. This day would mark them and now brings us to where we are now preparing the celebration of these two becoming one under the holy covenant of marriage.

The other side of the story

2023

When I first met Grossmann, he was always barefoot in a Hawaiian shirt and hiding behind a giant beard and long flowy blond hair. It was amazing to work beside him at Summit semester in Pagosa Springs for 3 months in fall 2022. I loved our team, our dynamic and the conversation we did have. We would discuss friends, theology, psychology, missions, and our adventures we’d had. There weren’t too many of those considering we lived so close for so long. I knew David was a solid guy and had a calling for discipleship and respected him for it. It was very much a surprise when he told me he liked me and hoped we could go on a date several month in the future. It ended up being good timing though. We both needed some time before officially starting our relationship in April. I enjoyed looking forward to where our friendship would lead and never guessed how fast he’d win me over. It was a honor to be pursued by someone so intent on putting God first, so considerate of the dynamics in each his relationships, so hard working and such an inspiring dreamer. He showed me more of his admirable goals, his gentle heart, and healing past. He would grin every time I’d call his romantic gestures “cheesy” or “sappy.” David wrote letters in beautiful calligraphy, made me laugh even when I was low, found gifts to make me smile and moments to invite me into. He never stopped sending me flowers even when he was in across the ocean, He invited me in to his life, his friendships and reminded me how many things I seek in life that would only work if I had a real, honest, strong man of God to walk alongside. He has been so very patient, creative and wise through our whole relationship and I am so grateful. While he was doing missions work with YWAM in Hawai’i we figured out how to schedule a time for me to visit. I was thrilled to have an excuse to visit such a beautiful place and meet so many extraordinary people. I volunteered for the week on the Kona base while he worked. We would take time in the mornings and evenings to go on walks, swim, snorkel and he even took me on tours of Kona on his mopeds! I treasured that time working alongside him with the people he cares about. We’ve both wanted to do more ministry together and can’t wait to see how that unfolds in the years to come. At the end of my week in Hawaii and much to my genuine surprise, David proposed on the most picturesque glorious evening on a beach by perfect clear water. He somehow knew the timing was right on an emotional level not just circumstantially. I knew deep down this was an immediate “yes” and the best opportunity of life. Yes to marriage, yes to Gods will for our lives together, yes to hard work and missions work, yes to Hawaiian lumberjack vibes, yes to a future big enough to scare me a little, yes to his kind heart and yes to the man of my dreams, my handsome Grossmann. We’ve spent most of our relationship long distance, and for those of you praying, thank you dearly! We’re so excited for time with my family in December, some time with his family over the holidays and then seeing all of you for the best time of fellowship January 13th. I am thrilled and blessed to know David and hopefully love him better and better every year.
