Mississippi Avenue is a great place to explore some of our favorite bars in Portland. Fun fact: We went on our first date here, starting at Stormbreaker Brewing! We recommend spending an afternoon checking out the bars, fun shops, and great restaurants that Mississippi has to offer. We also love Prost, which boasts a wide variety of food carts you can check out while enjoying a pint!
Forest Park, at 5,200 acres, provides critical refuge for hundreds of native wildlife and plant species and acts as an important air and water filter. With more than 80 miles of trails, it also provides invaluable access to nature, and is one of our favorite places to 'escape' within the city to enjoy some greenery and fresh air! Start at the Zoo and hike down to the International Rose Test Garden or up to Pittock Mansion for a beautiful view of the city from above!
The scenic stretch on HWY 84 to the Columbia River Gorge boasts a handful of breathtaking hiking trails. Head east and stop by Multnomah Falls for a beautiful view and easy hike, or drive further for Angels Rest, a moderate hike offering a beautiful view of the river gorge and a perfect place for a mountain top picnic. Or, stop by Sugarpine Drive-In on your way back to the city for a delicious ice cream treat!
Looking for an activity to cool you off in the summer heat? One of our favorite local rivers is the Clackamas, located just 35 minutes from the Portland city center. Grab an inner-tube and plan an afternoon to float from Barton Park to Carver Park, or pack up your cooler and beach towel and reach out to us directly to find out about our favorite secret beach spots on the Sandy river!
