Washington, DC Airports
There are three local airports - DCA, BWI, and IAD. DCA and IAD are the closest by distance, but traffic and time of day can have a big impact. Without traffic, they’re both about a 40-minute drive from the hotels in Gaithersburg. Plan for longer travel times on weekday afternoons and early evening. You can also take Metro (public transit) from DCA to the Shady Grove station and then catch an Uber of Lyft from there, which will take about 90 minutes. Alternatively, BWI is about a 50-60 minute drive from the hotel. Uber, Lyft and rental cars are available from all three airports.
