Katie and Brian met during a class at Chevron’s training facility. During a much needed coffee break, they struck up conversation outside the classroom with another classmate and now groomsman, Johnny. The three hatched a plan to celebrate surviving another week of training with drinks and dancing. Brian must have thought that Katie’s dance moves were okay because this was the first of many nights that they would spend tearing up the dance floor. While Brian is a bit of a sports fanatic, Katie could care less about watching most sports games. The one exception is the Cats (Villanova Wildcats). Katie made numerous pleas that her friends attend the Villanova club game watches in Houston. Brian endeared himself to Katie with his frequent attendance and equal passion for the Cats. A season of watching hoops together culminated in an opportunity for Brian and Katie to watch Villanova win a national championship in the company of seemingly every person Katie went to college with. It was around then that Brian decided he wanted to make Katie as happy as she was the night the Cats "won it all" every day. After over a year of sharing their passions for travel, delicious meals, hiking, skiing, dancing, wine, and family, there was no doubt in their minds, that they had found their partner.
Brian asked Katie to marry him in Crissy Field with a foggy Golden Gate Bridge in the background. They celebrated at brunch with Jennie, Casey, Hazel, and Grace. It was all so exciting that Katie and Brian’s faces hurt from smiling so much at the end of the day. We can't wait to tie the knot and celebrate with all of our friends and family!
