We’re Getting Married!

A true love story like no other! Just two young kids whose paths had crossed before they were even born. Meeting each other in high school in 2015 and becoming close friends they didn’t know that before they were born both of our fathers worked together for a company in Houston for a couple of years. With both of their fathers going their separate ways after leaving this company who knew 26 years later that their kids would end up falling in love. Now let’s get into the details of how all of this came about… Starting in English class in 2015, which what was only intended to be a genuine friendship grew all the way to our senior year in 2017 to becoming best friends. Sadly, with them only being just friends at the time, one of them ended up in a relationship and they lost touch with one another. Both going off to college these two were still only 25 minutes away from each other from Texas A&M to Blinn. Only losing touch for about two years until May of 2019, when one day they stumbled upon each other at the mall in College Station and both of their eyes lit up with excitement. Approaching each other with open arms for a big hug that felt like it lasted a lifetime. It felt like the two of them rekindled the 2 years of no communication all in one moment. From that moment on they picked up where right they left off in high school. Started with Destiney attending all of the Texas A&M home games and inviting each other to dinner, parties, functions, etc. One thing leading to another, Destiney began to catch feelings, but Savion didn’t want to ruin the genuine friendship they had built. Fast Forward… A couple of months later when Covid happened, Savion and Destiney caught Covid and spent two weeks quarantined together and having lots of time to think and talk. Savion started to realize that starting a relationship with Destiney and the foundation being built on a genuine friendship that nothing could possibly be better. The two began dating August 9th of 2020. Soon after, Destiney moved in to live with Savion in College Station, where the fun began. So many adventures, sleepless nights of laughter and enjoying each other’s presence. But don’t get it twisted… these two weren’t perfect, there was a lot of rough times and tough moments. But, the relationship being built on their genuine friendship they communicated through their trials with a lot of maturity and respect for one another, they came out closer and stronger than ever. All of this still applies to five years later in 2025! These two have grown so much over their time together from August of 2020 to the present day. So after this much time of dating and being extremely involved in each others family reunions, birthday parties, etc. Especially when going to a family function by yourself and your relatives start to ask “Why isn’t Savion here” or “Why isn’t Destiney with you?”. As a young man, Savion knew what had to come next! After deep talks between Savion, his parents and his friends, he believed it would be best for him to finally propose to Destiney. In these conversations, Savion knew this is 110% what he wanted to do and when communicating with family and friends about it, most of them answered… “YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE THIS” “ITS ABOUT TIME” So obviously now Savion is thinking to himself that not only does he believe that Destiney is the one for him but also everyone around him can see that too. Savion then asked Destiney’s mother and father for their blessing to ask their daughter to marry him. (Obviously they said yes or you would not be reading any of this) The Proposal… On February 16th of 2025, Savion got down on one knee in front of Destiney Nicole Taylor (The future Mrs. Flagg) and asked her to marry him. With tears in Destiney’s eyes and a rapid heartbeat from Savion. Destiney said “YES, YES, YES!”
