Fitz: We matched on a dating app and, despite living on opposite sides of Los Angeles, decided to meet up. I suggested we have dinner at Salazar, my favorite Mexican restaurant, as a good "halfway point," which, in reality, was much closer to me. He was a good sport and went with it. When I first saw him, he was standing by the valet, and I could not believe how handsome he was. I think I was in love before we even sat down to eat. By the time the bill came, I knew he was the one. Ryan: On the first date, I most remember his smile. Time slowed down as we sat at our table. We had barely said a word to each other yet, but I felt so much calmer in his presence. The second date a few weeks later was when it all came into focus for me. We started with brunch at Manuela in the Downtown LA Arts District. Then we checked out some art at a nearby gallery before each driving to The Black Cat, a historic queer bar in Silver Lake. I remember he called me on the way there to make sure I was okay with the plan to keep hanging out. I was struck by how thoughtful he was...and by how we both already wanted to spend the whole day together. The rest is history.
