Fitz: We matched on a dating app and, despite living on opposite sides of Los Angeles, decided to meet up. I suggested we have dinner at Salazar, my favorite Mexican restaurant, as a good "halfway point," which, in reality, was much closer to me. He was a good sport and went with it. When I first saw him, he was standing by the valet, and I could not believe how handsome he was. I think I was in love before we even sat down to eat. By the time the bill came, I knew he was the one. Ryan: On the first date, I most remember his smile. Time slowed down as we sat at our table. We had barely said a word to each other yet, but I felt so much calmer in his presence. For our second date a few weeks later, we started with brunch at Manuela in the Downtown LA Arts District. Then we checked out some art at a nearby gallery before each driving to The Black Cat, a historic queer bar in Silver Lake. I remember he called me on the way there to make sure I was okay with the plan to keep hanging out. I was struck by how thoughtful he was...and by how we both already wanted to spend the whole day together. The rest is history.
