Things To Do

Maymont Park

Maymont Park

Downtown, VA 23219

Emily and Lee will be getting married at one of the several Maymont locations and this park has so much to offer! Maymont is a 100-acre historic estate and park, located in Richmond, Virginia, with many unique experiences for all to enjoy. Stroll through the gardens and arboretum, see native wildlife habitats, feed friendly goats, explore The Robins Nature Center and visit the Mansion.

The Poe Museum

The Poe Museum

1914 East Main Street, Richmond, VA 23223

Fun fact: this is just one block from Emily’s downtown apartment during her gap year while pursuing her neuroscience publications before grad school. The Old Stone House is the oldest residential building that is still standing in Richmond, Virginia. It currently houses an exhibit about Poe’s childhood in Richmond. Although Edgar Allan Poe never lived in the Old Stone House, he still had connections to the home itself and its surrounding neighborhood

Station 2

Station 2

2016 East Main Street, Richmond, VA 23223

One of the best burger spots in downtown Richmond (in Emily and Lee’s opinion). We recommend the sweet potato tots if you are looking for a delicious lunch or brunch spot.

City Dogs

City Dogs

1309 West Main Street, Richmond, VA 23220

One of our favorite restaurants in Richmond! To this day, Lee and I crave getting a blue moon, hot dog, corn dog nuggets, and some french fries and it’s typically our first stop when visiting Richmond.
