We had brunch here on our most recent trip to New Orleans. The chef is from Philadelphia, where we met, and the freshly baked pita bread and blue crab hummus was amazing. After that meal, we walked on Magazine Street until we got back to the French Quarter. The entire route is packed with fun things to do like thrift shops, restaurants, record stores, and tons of friendly locals of course. If you have the time (and the stomach space) we highly recommend it. Make sure to get a reservation!
We went to New Orleans in May and got to tour Mardi Gras World. It's where they create and prepare all of the floats and parade decorations for Mardi Gras. It's a year round production and it was amazing to see the floats up close. Adult admission is $22 ($19 on Groupon) and there are multiple free shuttles. Admission comes with a piece of King Cake!
On our first trip to New Orleans, this bar was right under our hotel! They hade live music and an expansive cocktail menu. Kristin had the drink in the above photo and it was amazing. The bartenders there really know what they're doing and since it's just a short walk off of the hustle of Bourbon Street it's a great place to take a break if your dogs are barkin'!
