The Story of Us!

First Comes the Dorms, Then Comes COVID...

It all started in the Williams Village dorms at CU Boulder, affectionately known as “Willville”, with a pair of cowboy boots and a “rent-a-bug” sign. We were just friends until Valentine’s Day of 2020, and became 'official' one week before COVID shut down the world - right after H awkwardly introduced J to a family friend as her "friend who's a boy". After our first, perhaps second, round of quarantining — or maybe it was the countless hours spent on road trips — we knew we were in it for the long haul.

Popping the Question

From John's Perspective

Four years ago, in 2020, just a few days before I was suppose to meet Hannah’s family for the first time, she took me to a spot that overlooks Boulder and asked “what should I call you”. I replied, “Boyfriend is good”. I knew from that moment I would want to propose there. Four years later, on the day of our anniversary, I did just that — although it was much colder and windier. With some wine to settle the nerves and the help of the bitter cold to speed things up, I asked Hannah to marry me.

Why Kure Beach

Fort Fisher & Margaret Fisher

Kure Beach is a special spot for the Fisher Family. Hannah's Grandmother, also known as the Queen, has lived on the island for ~20 years. Grandma (& Grandpa) instilled the value of loving loudly & showing up for your family. And because of this, her 9 children quickly turned into 80+ Fishers that traveled annually to the island just to spend a week together. When the time came, H brought J to meet Grandma and the magical place that helped shape her. From the famous Fort Fisher (named after "Uncle Charlie") to the delicious Britts Donuts, John fell in love with the Island almost as much as the family & the girl dragging him into it. We hope you enjoy this charming island as much as we do.

We are so Excited!

We have a special weekend planned and cannot wait to share it with you! We are so appreciative of you traveling, taking time off work, and including us in your 2025 plans. We feel so blessed to have you all in our lives. We love you!
