We met on a June evening outside Barnacho in midtown Manhattan. At least, that's when we first officially met. After learning of the similarities in our upbringings, the close proximity of our childhood homes, and the people we know in common, not to mention the years we have spent in NYC, we both suspect we have been in many of the same places at the same time in what can only be described as serendipitous. Soon after that first official date, we began spending every day together and both remarked on how easy and natural it all felt, often double checking with the other person "Are you getting sick of me yet?" The answer was always a confident "No". We continue to enjoy the same activities and hobbies we did in those first few days, including frozen mango margarita happy hours, cooking culinary masterpieces (Madison is a great sous to Brett's head chef), and exploring any street fair or new restaurant the city has to offer. As you can tell we are big foodies! As everything in our relationship has been thus far, engagement was a natural and easy next step in our journey that we were both excited to embark on. The moment took place in our NYC apartment, with an intimate and romantic proposal the weekend of Brett's birthday. Though we had discussed it and it was just us two there, we were both overcome with excitement and emotion at the thought of what the moment really meant; that we would continue to share each day with one another, and no longer have to ask, "Are you sick of me yet?" (but we still do for fun). We are so excited to continue our journey and share it with our family and closest friends at our wedding.
