What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress Code: Formal We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Our wedding is formal attire- think suits, long dresses, or elevated cocktail looks. You’ll look amazing in whatever you choose, but if you’re looking for a little inspiration, consider jewel tones or floral prints in rich fall colors to match our romantic atrium setting. How do I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

For guests traveling to The Westin Southfield Detroit, located at 1500 Town Center, Southfield, Michigan: From I-696, take the Telegraph Road exit (Exit 10) and head south. Turn left onto Town Center Drive; the hotel will be on your right. From M-10 (Lodge Freeway), take the 9 Mile Road exit. Turn right onto 9 Mile Road, then left onto Town Center Drive, and the hotel will be straight ahead. It’s just a short drive from the surrounding freeways! NOTE: 696 is under construction, PLEASE budget additional travel time for traffic!

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Help us get the party started on time! We recommend arriving 30 minutes before the ceremony begins to ensure everyone is seated on schedule. We’ve planned every minute of our big day and don’t want you to miss a second! Note: There is a hotel bar near the lobby if you arrive early and need to pass the time.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place in the Westin Hotel's Atrium Room. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held indoors.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby for about an hour. Guests can head straight to the lobby, where finger foods and beverages will be served during the cocktail hour

Am I invited to the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

Due to space limitations at our venue, we unfortunately have to limit the rehearsal dinner guest list to those playing a role in the ceremony. We apologize to those who are not included and appreciate your understanding.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is free parking available in the garage for guests attending the wedding. If you are staying overnight at the hotel, self-parking is available for $10.00, or valet parking is offered for a daily rate of $30.00.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, we’ve decided to keep our special day an intimate event. We kindly ask that only our nieces and nephews join us in celebrating. Thank you for understanding—and enjoy your night off!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay within budget. Our celebration is RSVP-only, and we can only accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

Yes, we have reserved a block of rooms at The Westin Hotel. Ask for the Fisher-Kilgore Wedding when booking.

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes! All areas of our venue are wheelchair accessible, with ramps or elevators available to reach every location. If you need assistance, a staff member will be happy to guide you. Note: Bathrooms are located on the second floor, with an elevator nearby. Additional bathrooms can be round on the Hotel lobby.

Will there be food and drinks during cocktail hour?

Answer

Yes! After the wedding ceremony, we will serve light passed hors d’oeuvres and offer an open bar. Toast with us to our nuptials with a curated selection of wine, beer, and cocktails.
