Nate and Margaret met on their first date on November 14, 2019. On that night, at Bookhouse Brewing, they were just 22 years old and 6 months out of college. Little did they know that from that moment on, their futures would intertwine into a single, shared life experience. Over the course of their first few dates, they got to know one another and discovered they had mutual acquaintances and that on many occasions, they had been in the same place at the same time . They even realized they had briefly met in 2015 as freshmen at Kent State outside the Clark Hall laundry room where Nate’s dorm was directly above Margaret’s. A few dates later, the two were wandering through the halls of the Cleveland Museum of Art, and both sensed there was something special about the other. They shared their first kiss that night outside of a wine bar in Little Italy. Six months into their new relationship, Nate and Margaret were still together, resolute, despite facing a number of personal and global challenges that they faced in early 2020 like the rest of the world. In autumn 2021, they moved in together at Nate’s apartment in the Franklin Tower in Ohio City. Over the next few years, Nate and Margaret began to navigate their young adulthood side by side. That year they began to learn how to live as a couple—cooking meals together, managing bills and groceries, and tackling other “adult” challenges. During this time, they deepened their bond, becoming ingrained in each other’s friend and family circles, while discovering more about each other’s personalities. Along the way, they made new friends, reconnected with old ones, and experienced the joys and lessons of building a life together. In the years leading up to their engagement, Nate and Margaret fell more in love as they went about their lives together. They traveled near and far, spending summers at Lake Chautauqua, biking to Guardians games, taking ski trips to Colorado, going on beach trips with friends, visiting loved ones out of town, and the two even spent a month in Mexico to travel while working remotely. Nate proposed to Margaret at the end of her family’s dock at Lake Chautauqua on July 2, 2024, after 1,692 days of knowing one another. A few months after their engagement, they celebrated their five year anniversary, knowing they would be married in less than a year’s time. Nate and Margaret are so excited to get married and celebrate their union by bringing together their closest friends and family for the wedding. And they cannot wait to see what the future holds for the two of them!
