Like many modern romances, ours began with a swipe. From our very first conversation on Bumble, everything was easy and natural. Soon after, we met for our first date at Southend Brewery in downtown Greensboro, NC—and the connection was instant. We bonded quickly over the trials of being loyal (and perpetually heartbroken) Carolina Panthers fans, shared Lexington, NC roots, humor, and love for working out at the gym. One of our earliest “challenges” was our college rivalry—UNC vs. NC State—but what could’ve been a dealbreaker turned into one of our strengths. Somewhere between the teasing and the playful/not-so-playful jabs, we mastered the art of bickering and compromise. And while we hit it off right away, it was Catherine’s dog, Stella, who sealed the deal. Stella adored Austin from the start, and Austin couldn’t help but fall for her too. As our relationship grew, so did our support for each other. Catherine cheered Austin on through law school, and Austin has made the frequent, long seven-hour drive to be by Catherine’s side as she completes physician assistant school in Pittsburgh, PA. Through all the miles, late-night phone calls, and life changes, we’ve become true partners—best friends who make each other better every day. On July 4th, 2025, Austin proposed overlooking downtown Pittsburgh. With fireworks lighting up the skyline all around us, it was a sweet, romantic, perfectly "them" moment—simple, meaningful, and unforgettable. Now, we’re excited to start this next chapter together. We can’t wait to celebrate with all the people who’ve supported us along the way (and yes, Stella will be there too).
