How We Met

June 22, 2013

On a fine summer evening during the annual Athfest Music Festival in 2013, Taylor and Mary crossed paths for the first time. A brief introduction at the Little Kings Shuffle Club was followed by an extensive conversation on the rooftop of the Georgia Theatre. Mary might not remember it quite the same way, but Taylor recalls that there was obvious chemistry between them. For his good fortune, Mary gave him her real phone number before they said goodbye. Taylor broke the three day rule, texting her the very next day. As they prepare to say their vows, they are especially grateful for your presence in their lives. They are excited that you can join in to celebrate the beginning of their journey together.

The Proposal

August 21, 2017

On August 21st, 2017, a rare solar eclipse passed across the heart of the United States. A small slice of the country would get to experience “Totality,” the complete blocking of the sun. Taylor and Mary made the short drive north to the mountain town of Clayton, Ga to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event - “Totality.” They waited on a remote dirt road on the mountainside, donning solar glasses to watch the moon begin blanketing the disk of the sun. As the mountain plunged into complete darkness, the chirps, creaks, and moans of nature’s creatures filled the air. The sun was reduced to a thin, blazing ring of gold. At the peak of “Totality,” Taylor knelt on one knee as he gently took Mary’s hand. Confidently, he professed his deep love, respect, and gratefulness for Mary. His excitement and adoration of her entire being was more evident than ever before. With a beautiful diamond ring raised up in his hand, he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. She quickly said yes, embracing Taylor for a brief moment as they both put their solar glasses back on to finish enjoying the awesomeness of “Totality".
