Father of the Bride
Sapphire possesses more qualities of her father than she'd ever like to admit, but above all else, he inspired her wanderlust. An amazing cook, bilingual, curious and restless; her first trip with him together at 13 gave her the confidence to travel alone. Its fair to say she may not have aspired to live abroad in Canada without his influence!
Mother of the Bride
"You're your mother's daughter!" is an expression thrown around both in delight and frustration in the Loebler household. Sonia, an intelligent, creative and determined woman raised Sapphire and her three siblings to be fiercely independent contributors on this Earth. Without her early guidance Sapphire may not have cultivated the strength she has today!
Maid of Honor
Monique has long advocated for remote work arrangements and despite the distance acts as Sapphire's Maid of Honour! Sapphire has long admired and looked up to her little sister as a relentlessly authentic, intelligent and genuinely generous person. It comes at a little cost though, navigating her fierce tongue and sharp wit and often praying Mo *does not* say No! When Sapphire uprooted her life, Monique was her biggest cheerleader and support! She has sacrificed a lot of her own needs to support her sister, something Sapphire is ever grateful for! I miss you sis, not having you here today is my greatest regret!
Brother of the Bride
Khan makes Sapphire laugh (more often than not)! His sense of humor is unparalleled (even by Rane's) and his ability to make Sapphire feel better with a sarcastic comment or joke is something she's missed! A talented photographer, an amazing cook, a creative blacksmith are some of his qualities, but above all else Khan has always been there when Sapphire's needed him most (despite his hate of physical contact or great displays of emotion). Miss you brother!
Another Brother of the Bride
Connor and Sapphire stayed pretty active together growing up, hiking, skiing and even committing to a poorly named "fun run" once! Like Khan, Connor has supported Sapphire many times, particularly caring for her fur babies. He's a good man, and a good father and she can't wait until he brings over his son to experience a beautiful Canadian winter with her!
Best Cat
In the beginning, a stubborn, furry toddler demanded a deluge of "food" and "love". He had the cravings of a spoiled bourgeois cosmopolite. Dry food wasn't good enough for him, and we gave into his every demand like fools. Eventually, as he aged gracefully in our warm and confined home, he gave up. As his spirit died, we learned to love him. He is our precious prince and the most loving ball of fluff we could ask for. I'm sure he feels similar sentiments towards us, but in a more empowered, hairless way.
