How We Met:

Wrong door, right person

Our story begins with a case of mistaken doors and a lot of confusion. We first met when Owen came to tour an apartment in Waltham during the height of COVID. The place was a multifamily home, and Fiona was living on the second floor. Because of pandemic precautions, the realtor wasn't joining the tour and had simply told Owen to "let himself in through the back door." Unfortunately, they forgot to mention which back door. So, Owen went to what he thought was the right entrance and started trying to unlock the door. When the key didn’t work, he began jiggling the doorknob and knocking, trying to get in. Inside, Fiona was understandably terrified. She had no idea who this strange man was trying to break into her apartment. She was texting her mom in a panic, who promptly told her to call the police. She almost did… but then she got a look at him. He was cute! So instead of dialing 911, Fiona grabbed her pepper spray (just in case) and stormed downstairs to set him straight. She let him know—in no uncertain terms—that he was at the wrong door, and sent him next door to the correct apartment. A few days later, once Owen officially moved in, Fiona left him a peace offering: a handwritten note with her phone number and some coffee. The rest, as they say, is history.
