While Chris may get teased for not remembering the first time he and Lindsey met, the razzing gets directed back towards Lindsey when it comes to the proposal...and almost ruining it! As many of you know, Chris managed to pull off quite the complete surprise. Some even say the entire city of McKinney knew what was coming before Lindsey did. He organized huge scrimmage night to be held four days after Christmas between his club and the competing club for which she coached at the time. After Lindsey had had a terrible day during which everything that could have gone wrong seemed to have done so, all the teams, coaches, parents, and fans poured into the gym to get court assignments and schedule information before warmups began...or so Lindsey thought. After sharing thanks for everyone's presence and for his club being hosted for the scrimmage night, he opened the floor for questions. He'd prepped a player in the crowd to ask how he and Lindsey had met and immediately directed it to Lindsey to answer. Not knowing what was coming, her response was short only indicating that they'd met via volleyball and followed with a note about how that was an inappropriate time for that, as everyone needed to get into warmups on their courts. *face palm* Chris quickly recovered the floor and answered the question letting everyone in on the fact that he didn't remember Lindsey the very first time they met and that she'd actually been the one to ask him out when they met again a couple months later. Then he let everyone know he'd been a terrible boyfriend because he'd not had her Christmas gift ready to give in time for the holiday. *This is the point at which Lindsey finally clued into the situation!* He pulled the most beautiful ring from his pocket, got down on one knee, and proposed in front of everyone! In addition to including all of their local friends, coworkers, and volleyball families, he flew Lindsey's sister in as a surprise for the engagement as well.
