Rebis and Finn met in the theatre at Heritage High School in 2014! They began dating in May, after Finn duked it out for months with 2 other classmates for Rebis’s attention (myself - Finn, and two of my classmates/friends all had crushes on Rebis and Rebis was oblivious to every pass made by all of us! Unlike the others, I actually told Rebis how I felt). Rebis asked Finn out in the theatre sound booth by asking Finn to be “the Cass to their Dean.” Some of you will get how cool that was…I hope! Rebis was wearing Finn’s favorite yellow flannel. Fast forward to September and…they broke up. Wait but aren’t Rebis and Finn getting married? Yes! Just keep reading! Rebis and Finn spent years only messaging on birthdays and holidays. In Summer 2017, Finn went to visit Rebis in Burbank, CA. The trip was fun! But life got in the way, and they went back to messaging a couple times a year (I know, this makes me sad too. I’ll wait while you grab a tissue). From there, Finn kept working as a nanny and babysitter and at dispensaries, and then landed a job as a Paraeducator in the Autism program at Hinkley High School 2021. Finn even dug into their dance and theatre background and choreographed the musical that year! After district wide restructuring, most of Finn’s team moved to Crawford Elementary School, where we opened a new Autism Program! (Those were the best 2 jobs EVER!!! While Finn was back in Colorado, Rebis was moving all over with one of their best friends, Kyah! (Hi Kyah! We 💛 you!) After Burbank, Rebis and Kyah moved to Pasadena around 2019 and again to Ventura, CA in 2021 where they enjoyed slow mornings, walks on the beach, beautiful Spanish architecture, and possibly the best thrifting scene they’ve seen! After that, Rebis and Kyah moved to New Orleans so Kyah could work in the film industry there! While in NOLA, Rebis and Kyah met these cool people in a little band called Mary Jam (Hey there! We 💛 you too!) After graduation, the members of Mary Jam returned/moved to Minneapolis and asked Rebis to join them on this adventure! Rebis agreed and relocated summer 2022 where the group lived in a (very cute) house in St. Louis Park Minneapolis. In late summer 2023, Finn’s long term relationship ended, and Rebis just so happened to reply to Finn’s Snapchat story. These conversations became flirty very quickly, and about a month later, on Labor Day weekend, Finn flew out to Minneapolis to see Rebis. Rebis picked Finn up from the airport, they drove out of the pickup line, pulled over, and kissed a lot! Ewwwwwwwww!!!! I know but this was an important moment! Rebis and Finn’s relationship was going amazingly and Finn was feeling very stuck in their job and life in Colorado. In November, Finn returned to Minneapolis and found an apartment in the Whittier neighborhood in Minneapolis. Finn finished the semester at the elementary school, and celebrated Christmas in Colorado, before packing up and moving to Minnesota on December 28, 2023. Finn and Popeye made the 14 hour trek in the good ol’ Subaru Outback (her name is Pearl in case you were wondering) while Finn’s dad and brother drove the U-Haul. Finn and Popeye (who most definitely wasn’t snuck in) spent the night in a hotel about 30 minutes outside of the Twin Cities. Bright and early on the 29th, the pair arrived in Minneapolis and saw their new home!

On September 2, 2023 Rebis and Finn decided to “make it official” while driving to Elko Speedway to see a race with Rebis’s friends/roomates! The race was cool too I guess…but the important thing was that the pair started dating! Rebis, Finn, and Popeye moved into a beautiful apartment in the Whittier neighborhood in July 2025. After 2 1/2 years of movies, home-cooked meals, Magic the Gathering, local punk shows, Baldurs Gate 3, and most of all, love, Finn proposed to Rebis on February 28, 2026 by designing and running a one-shot DnD campaign along with 5 rings, 2 (lab grown) emerald bracelets (Rebis’s birthstone), a silver locket with topaz (Finn’s birthstone), and a silver dragon ear cuff.
