Sydney and Kyle met at their university's boxing club, where they quite literally hit it off. Before long, they were spending time together outside of training. One of their earliest memories was their boxing club's Halloween party, where he walked her there like a true gentleman. But instead of partying, they spent the entire night tucked away in the kitchen corner, deep in conversation. One unforgettable evening, they watched the sunset on the beach together, completely unaware that soon, the world was about to change. COVID forced them apart, but distance only proved what they already knew: they were meant to be. Through perseverance, patience, and countless video call date nights, their love grew stronger. When they finally reunited, Grand Haven Beach became their special place, a quiet retreat where they could watch the sun dip below the horizon, just like that very first time. As the years passed, their journey took them on adventures near and far, from Panama, Italy, to North Carolina. But no matter where they traveled, home was always where they had each other. He eventually moved back to Grand Rapids to be by her side while she pursued PA school, and in the process, he took in her beloved rescue cat, falling completely in love with both her and his newfound role as a cat dad. Their life together continued to unfold in the most beautiful ways. They moved in together, she graduated PA school, and then, on a warm spring evening they went to the beach that had witnessed so many of their most cherished moments. Kyle got down on one knee and asked Sydney to marry him, with Sydney giving a very enthusiastic "yes"!
