Our venue is the Memory Garden, located at 20 Custom House Plaza, Monterey, California 93940. It's a historical (state park!) in the heart of Old Monterey, within walking distance of Alverado Street and the Wharf. For you out-of-towners, use the Portola Hotel and Spa as your landmark for arriving at the event. Approaching the Portola Hotel from Alverado St, the garden is directly behind (North) the hotel, and you may cut through the atrium to get to the entrance. Please enter through the Custom House Plaza side, across from the Dali Museum, to the left of the building with the Monterey State Historic Park sign. There will be a welcome sign and wrought iron gates to guide you. Also recommending good old Google Maps to lend an additional helping hand.
Cocktail attire and dancing shoes. We're here to have a good time so look good, feel good and leave the formal tux and ballgown at home. Monterey can get a little chilly once the sun goes down, so we recommend bringing a coat or shawl to keep the chill away.
Parking in downtown Monterey is a variety of street and garage. Within a few blocks of the Garden, you may find ample street parking (though on a Friday afternoon tourists may monopolize these spots) but be prepared to pay the meters. Also consider the nearby Wharf Public Parking lot, Portola Hotel Parking Garage, Downtown West and Downtown East Parking Garages, and Heritage Harbor Parking Garages. Please be prepared to pay small parking fees. A couple of blocks west, Van Buren, Larkin, and residential streets west of the garden are free, space permitting. Please allow enough time to find a spot.
Nope. We chose the Memory Garden, apart from the fact that it is a beautiful place to get married, because it is walking distance to many fantastic hotels, restaurants, bars, and more in the heart of Old Monterey. Uber and Taxis are always available.
