Sydney & I became friends our 1st year at Samford & grew closer when we became “twins” in Phi Mu. I truly feel as though we are sisters. From exploring Bham together, to going on fun trips, to being roommates, I am so thankful for our fun memories. One of the best was going to Israel together through a study abroad program. I fell in love with the country of Israel, but I also got to watch the beginning of her love story with Jack. Jack & I became friends on the trip, & I was excited to watch this godly guy sweep Sydney off her feet! I’m thrilled to be standing by Syd as she marries the guy of her dreams! I'm so grateful for the support they have shown me as I work toward my law degree. I'm excited to be a part of Jack & Sydney’s journey & watch them embark on their biggest adventure yet!

I'm Davis Pidgeon. I am tall, closer to too tall than small... you'll see. I grew up about 10 minutes from Jack. I am a student at Mississippi State & will be graduating this year in Industrial Engineering. I'm taller than Jack, but he was taller than me in kindergarten. I love dogs and travel. Current MSU Spikeball Champion. I became friends with Jack when I was 3 years old. I was a weirdo, but compared to Jack I seemed normal, so it was good to have him around. We have been friends ever since, playing football, getting the ladies (to friend zone us), making stupid videos, & going to church. When I met Sydney, I knew she was way out of his league, so props to him for that! Me & Jack have put up with each other for 20 years, & I am honored to pray for him & Sydney & support them.

I have the privilege of being one of Jack's older sisters. I am so excited about that extending to our new family member, Sydney! The night Jack was born, Christine and I were at our Grandmom & Grandad's house sleeping on the floor in their bedroom awaiting the arrival of our little brother! The bug-eyed pet brother grew up beside me, and I'd say he turned out alright ;). My husband Joshua and I reside in New Orleans, LA. I am a counselor at a men's substance abuse residential treatment facility while Joshua is a PhD student at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Some of my favorite things include caffeinated beverages in quirky coffee shops, putting together art, reading about various counseling-related subjects, and sleeping. I am honored to be a part of this beautiful union!

When Jack's sister & I began dating, my siblings found out who she was & informed me that Jack was one of the coolest cats at Samford. When I met him, I agreed with my siblings. I'm proud to have him as my brother-in-law & am excited to add Sydney to the in-law roster. I reside in New Orleans with my beautiful wife Rebekah. I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Theology, Concentration in Church History at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. My goal is to teach at a seminary or Christian university. I grew up between the US and East Africa. My parents were missionaries with the International Mission Board. I have a sister, Anna, & a brother, Luke. I also want to be a cowboy when I grow up. I enjoy fishing, shooting, gardening, collecting pipes, & cooking everything from salads to barbecue.
Christine Henry Gillett

I’m Jack’s oldest sister so I met him probably before everyone. I helped teach him many things- most notably to pull pranks (I was the test subject for most) and how to dance (you’re welcome, Sydney). I was born and raised in Marietta, GA. I attended MTSU where I earned my BS in Animal Science. I moved to Fort Worth, TX for an internship, met a handsome diesel mechanic, fell in love, married him in 2017 and now we have THE cutest baby you’ve ever seen, Margaret Estelle. We recently purchased our first home. I own a horse named Reno and a pupper named Izzie. Jack has helped to move me into/out of at least 6 different residences. There are some incriminating pictures of Jack fully cooperating in plays & skits after we dressed him up. Also, he’s the best big younger brother there ever was.

John is married to Christine Henry Gillett and brother-in-law to Jack. On top of this, his baby girl, Margaret, will be the flower girl! John lives with his family in Texas where he works as a service technician while earning his master's degree.

Sydney and I met our sophomore year at Samford. We ended up being roommates! She loved me through a really difficult time in my life and was even there when my now husband asked me out for the first time. We had such an amazing time being roommates, God brought us back together for our senior year! We had a lot of interesting times in our little dorm room, but Sydney has always been a constant, loyal, and loving friend. She was in my wedding as a bridesmaid and we have continued to keep in touch. I consider her one of my best friends. Jack and I knew each other from growing up in the same church, Johnson Ferry. Sydney and Jack couldn’t be more perfect for each other! I’m so excited for their wedding and new adventure as a married couple!

I’m Jay Berry from Memphis, TN. I’m a student at Ole Miss, studying business. I was forced to meet Sydney, because she just so happens to be my sister. Now, through her, I’m getting what I’ve always wanted, a brother (in-law) which is Jack. I’m so proud of the both of them, and I’m proud to be apart of their family. Hi there! I’m Annie Green! I’m originally from Douglasville, GA, which is close to Six Flags. I’m currently in Birmingham trying to figure out where the Lord is leading me. My favorite movie is The Proposal! One of my favorite memories with Sydney Berry is when we got henna tattoos together, and I heard about the beginning of her relationship with Jack :) I also have very fond memories of the two of us tearing up the dance floor at Phi Mu functions. Sydney and I met through a variety of Samford activities our freshman year. It may have been our GMS (Global Mission Scholarship) retreat that we first really bonded. And the last connection I can think of is Kathryn, another bridesmaid, somehow winded up sharing Sydney with me on one of our walks from Vail to the Caf.

Jack and I met on our first little league team at four years old (Aquasox for life). I’m from Marietta, GA and I now live and work in Birmingham as a financial advisor. I'm going to my best friend, Olivia, in January. And I’m better than Davis Pidgeon at Spikeball/everything.

I’m Kathryn! I'm currently in grad school at Virginia Tech pursuing a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Sydney and I met as hallmates at Samford University freshman year and hit it off and became fast friends while traveling the world (London, Iceland, and Disney World to name a few!) Bride's note: Kathryn has also helped me through some hard times. (Freshman year was hard!) She provided lots of love, hugs, and encouragement. :)

I’m Daniel Maynard, currently living in Birmingham, but I’m a true native of Nashville. I’m continuing my education at Samford in pursuit of becoming a doctor of physical therapy. I’m just a Christian, frisbee-throwing nerd trying to live my best life surrounded by friends. Jack and I met during rush freshman year. I was a shy, small freshman, and Jack was the outgoing man that he has always been. We got to know each other better when we both pledged ATO. I think the moment that we started considering each other friends was at the ATO new members’ retreat when we bonded over who knows what (something very nerdy). I didn’t meet Sydney until much later after Jack was already crazy about her. Fun fact - Jack and I were in a Samford Step Sing dance break together, and we mirrored each other!

Sydney and I met our Freshman year of college at Samford. We both lived in Vail, but I lived on 2WW and she lived on 3WW. After a couple days, I met some girls on her hall and I eventually became an honorary member of their hall. I eventually met Sydney, and I loved being around her, but we became really close after we went to Disney World on Spring Break. I remember Sydney and I were cold from the rain, talking as we were waiting to go back to the hotel room. We both realized that we both love for Peter Pan. We have been friends ever since, and I honestly couldn’t have survived college without her. I am now back in my hometown, Bowling Green, KY where I am the owner of Baskin Robbins. I truly love people because I believe love is a beautiful thing to give to others as well as receive.

The first day of my college life at Samford began with meeting Jack, who, at the time, was beginning his first year as an RA. I remember that he made my transition going into college feel easy and was always a reliable and trustworthy friend. Plus he always had snacks in his room and a TV, so of course I was going to hang out all the time! I grew up in Thailand as a missionary kid and didn't officially move to America until the beginning of my senior year of high school. I'm a sports med major and also extremely handsome/loved by everyone.

I met Sydney in college, and she has been such a sweet and encouraging friend. She kept me sane and I know I could not have survived without her. When I met Jack, I had my reservations, but in a short time he proved himself worthy of my precious friend. I'm so excited to celebrate their marriage and hope the best for them in all their endeavors. I know that they will always seek God first and will live as an example of true love and unity. I am from Hartselle, AL but am moving to Birmingham for work. I would love to be a published author someday and I love dancing and traveling. During my free time you will probably either find me with a book in my hand or falling down the rabbit hole of YouTube. I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up because I'm interested in too many things.

I’m a sophomore pre-med & psych major at Samford from Montgomery. I spend most of my time looking up cars or with my 13 year old Lab, Lily. I met Jack when I went to Samford's orientation. I was nervous because my mother & sister were making me go to a fraternity event. However, Jack walked up to me with a smile & we talked about video games-- a highlight of orientation. I met up with Jack again, & he took me under his wing. I came back to Samford over Jan Term, & Jack told me his girlfriend was coming. I thought she might question Jack’s decision-making skills for having me as a friend. We played games and ate pizza, & long story short, found out she was just as rad as Jack. I feel lucky to have met them, and I'm grateful for how much Jack has impacted me & how Syd has impacted him.
