Hi everyone! We just scheduled our delivery date and it’s happening later than anticipated! Everything is good, but this is highlighting our potential difficulty in attending the campout, given Leah’s surgical recovery and the baby’s very young age. We still encourage you to come if you’ve been looking forward to your Montana vacation and Yellowstone tour. We will still try to come down to the campground on Saturday, but it’s hard for us to make any promises at this point. Some folks are likely to put together a group cookout, but it would be good to bring your own food as well. There is a general store at the campground and plenty of good restaurants in West Yellowstone. The boats are still rented and available and 2-3 cabins are available if folks still need a place to stay. Text Leah if you’re interested. Apologies for the run around; we’ve never had a baby before and we don’t know what we don’t know. We really hope to see you, but no worries if this changes your plans. We are considering trying again same time same place next summer for a first birthday party campout! Love, Leah and Sam
Surprise! We had a small, intimate ceremony on the day Sam's parents and grandparents got married, August 16th, on Whidbey Island! But don't fret - we are planning a big, blow-out campout reception on Hebgen Lake in Montana, right next to Yellowstone National Park, the weekend of August 1, 2026. It would mean the world to us for you to be there! PS - please make sure to explore the other links and pages on this website for more info about lodging and to RSVP!
We are thrilled to be pregnant and expecting a baby boy around July 20th. We didn't anticipate the timing of his arrival to line up so closely to our Campout, but life keeps teaching us that we can't plan everything, and we aren't looking a gift horse in the mouth on this one! We know a lot of you have already booked and planned your travel for the Campout, and don't fret - you are still welcome to come, we just may not be as available as previously planned. :) In that vein, if all goes well, this is the plan. But we ask for flexibility and understanding if anything with the birth derails this plan. Regardless, you'll still be able to come to the campground, we just might not be there the whole time. And we ask that you be mindful of your own state of health if you do come, and keep in mind that given the young young age of the baby, we will be limiting the number of people holding him. The Beaver Den (indoor campground kitchen) will be available all weekend to stock with whatever food you'd like to bring for snacks and lunches. Boats will be available for lake excursions and fishing, and Yellowstone is nearby - there will be lots to do and enjoy! If you haven't booked your lodging yet, all the cabins at the Campground have been spoken for, so you may want to look at some of the nearby campgrounds, Airbnbs, and hotels. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions about that! Let us know through the RSVP tool on this website if your plans have changed - no hard feelings either way! And if you'd like to buy a wedding gift, we gently nudge you to consider looking at our Baby Registry instead: https://my.babylist.com/leah-lungren Thanks for rolling with our glorious updates! Life continues to surprise us in the best ways.
