Exploring Downtown Fairhope is a wonderful experience. Locally owned and operated shops and restaurants with a beautiful, classic Southern feel. Christina doesn't drive more than 5 miles anymore - everything you need is right here!
Red Or White Wine Fairhope
We love our local wine bar and eatery! A large selection of wine , champagne and beer that can be enjoyed while watching the slow bustle of Downtown Fairhope. They serve scrumptious food after 3pm, and do not take reservations. There is a back room that can be reserved for parties of 6-12 people
Thyme On Section
Every meal eaten here has been a delight. They do accept reservations and take-out. Sunday brunch here has a monthly set menu that the chefs perfect every time. We highly recommend coming here at least once while in town!
Page & Palette
This place has it all - a cozy book store, a coffee shop, and a bar that plays local live music and comedy. Page & Palette is a wonderful place to stop in or to stay a while.
The Fairhope Pier
This beautiful view of the bay is close to Downtown, with a walking path past some beautiful neighborhoods. We love to walk here with Peppa on slow weekend mornings with our coffee. There is also a park, lots of parking, and on weekends different events happen down here!
Village Point Park Preserve
A beautiful preserve with different walking trails available. One leads all the way to the water where there are hanging porch swings to enjoy the bay! We have seen turtles, squirrels, chipmunks, alligators, snakes, and many different types of birds on our walks here. We recommend driving on Main Street/98/Eastern Shore Trail. It connects Fairhope up through Daphne and is an absolutely beautiful drive.
Southwood Kitchen
One of the best restaurants that we have found. Southwood always delivers a fantastic meal with a wonderful ambience. They are slightly North of Fairhope closer to Daphne, AL and they do accept reservations.
Orange Beach/Gulf Shores
If you are here on a longer vacation, we recommend taking the drive out to Orange Beach or Gulf Shores. Both destination towns where you can dine and relax on white sand beaches, book water adventure charters, or explore local nature parks. We love spending long holiday weekends here with Mike and Chelsea - a kind of staycation if you will!
