We’re getting married!

SOOOOO.... ONCE UPON A TIME.... Two Generation Y'ers were attending separate Universities about 50 minutes apart from one another. They had NO IDEA that they would end up sharing the same interest in studying abroad in The Dominican Republic during the Spring Semester of 2008. As divine appointment would have it, the two would officially meet minutes before boarding the plane to their "Caribbean school-getaway". It was then, that the young Beau was completely enamored by the beautiful and pleasant-spirited Belle, Chantel. Soon enough, island life would prove to bring them closer than expected and upon returning to the States, the two began to date. FAST FORWARD 2 YEARS.... As time & circumstance would have it, the couple grew apart and Chantel moved away from the NYC area. After a 7 year hiatus, they would reconnect after Joshua invited Chantel to a powerful Midnight Prayer Service at Remnant Worship Center Intl. in Brooklyn, NY. From that point on, a friendship blossomed in which they were challenged with the task of re-learning each other as maturing, Spirit-led adults as opposed to the young and self-driven college students they once were. Eventually, the Lord would grow their friendship and two years later, the pair would begin dating for the second time. FINALLY.... On the night of September 12, 2020, and after smelling the sweet aroma of Honey Bar-B-Q sauce for quite some time, Joshua asked for Chantel's hand in marriage at her birthday getaway confirming that she is HIS RIB!

September 2020 the couple & a group of friends spent the weekend in the Catskills for Chantel’s birthday. The weekend was full of activities including brunch, hiking, impromptu dancing, s'mores by the fire pit, & a plated dinner to close out the weekend. What she thought would just be a dinner turned out to be much more. For the dinner, Chantel asked that everyone dress up in all black. As everyone got ready & Chantel set the table, sneaky Joshua was setting up a plan of his own. He planned to have confetti filled balloons popped over Chantel's head, only for her to notice a faux ring in the midst of all merriment. BUT God had a better plan! After setting the table, Chantel got dressed and made her grand entrance back to her guests. She was greeted by smiles, cheers, cameras, and a party! After dancing, everyone sat down to eat. Little did they know, the meal they were about to consume was not just food. God used Joshua and Chantel's pastor to prophesy and distribute words of knowledge & love to each individual. Let's just say...God swept through that place! Tears flowed, everyone was prayed for, deliverance occurred, and almost everyone had a word from the Lord to share. It was...AMAZING & Chantel was overwhelmed by her answered prayers. She confirmed everything that was said and thanked everyone for BEING her birthday gifts. Just when we thought there were no more words to be said, Joshua had some words to say - words that would stick with Chantel forever. As he spoke, Chantel noticed one of Joshua’s closest friends holding his phone as if he was recording but she didn't think anything of it. Most of the people at the house had no clue that Joshua was going to propose (smart) so that there was nothing for Chantel to pick up on. Moments later, Joshua bent down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage! Overwhelmed, stunned and full of tears, she said "Yes!"
